Assalammualaikum...
To be frank, I am a newbie of Netflix and so I'm not pretty sure on how to start this post but I just know I want to write this since I really had nothing to do. Anyways, let's just jump into the review, shall we?

Synopsis: A woman living in 1890s Colonial-era Malacca receives a proposal to become the ghost bride of a a wealthy family's recently-deceased son. -IMDB
Review: If I should describe this series in one word, I would have to say, there is no exact word for me to describe this drama. In fact, I am still debating with myself if I do really love this series or not since there are certain thing that I love and there's plenty of things that made me feel "meh".

- Kuang Tian

The only cast that manage to grab my attention in this series is Kuang Tian whom hold the role of Lim Tian Ching or shall I introduce you as "the ghost"? My oh my, he really had the best facial expression and I am always excited each time he appeared.. Hence, I am declaring that he's my new guy crush! #sorrynotsosorry.

- If you're a fan of Kebaya Nyonya, you will definitely fall in love with the main actresses choice of Kebaya.. They're such an eye candy and in fact, this series is filled with stunning outfits in most of the scene and even my favourite ghost looks so good in his costume!
Dislikes
- This may sound harsh but to be frank, this series is way below my expectation. They had a good story-line but it is just too draggy and I think it would be better if this is just a movie instead of making it into a series and idk, I just don't really favor this.
It's been months since I truly watched a movie. If I'm not mistaken, the last movie that I watched in cinema was "The Divine Fury" acted by Park Seo Joon; back on those days when my dad was still alive. Ever since he left, my life became lifeless as I had to travel back and forth from Seremban to KL and no classes means equals to the rest day for my body so I shall not go anywhere unless with reasons.
So, when my sister had been debating to bring her children to watch either Frozen 2 or Ejen Ali, I immediately suggested Ejen Ali because let's face this. It is easier to access on illegal film for foreign movies instead of local movies and I don't want to regret for not watching it, just like I'm regretting myself for not watching Upin Upin: Keris Siamang Gagap before.
So, since this movie is not an alien for the Malaysian, let's just jump to the verdict, shall we?
I have to say, 2019 is the uprising year for Malaysian animation. Starting from Upin ipin (welp, I missed that one) up to Boboiboy and now this, they never fail to leave a good impression. I could not enjoy 100% of the movie since my 4 years old nephew was quite distracted after 70% of the movie; starting to move from one end to another, hugging me, trying to drag me for an ice-cream sesh, and yet, I had to skip a lil' bit of the start due since my sister asked me to out to help her to grab the popcorn for all of my little ones! It is however, I shall still enjoy the whole movie and to be frank, I kinda wish to be able to repeat this movie once again without any interruptions from any of my little babies but the question is, when?😭
Anyways, you should go and watch if you haven't because trust me, it would never disappoint you.
Rating: ★★★★☆ - Because I could not focus on the whole movie due to distractions, so I kinda wish for a repeat and then only it would be 5/5!
p/s: I am not supposed to be here right now since I have an assignment that needs my attention but I could not hold myself as I am so eager to share this with you guys!
Casts:
Ryu Seung-ryong, Lee Hanee, Jin Seon-kyu, Lee Dong-hwi, Gong Myung
Synopsis:
A team of narcotics detectives goes undercover in a fried chicken joint to stake out an organized crime gang. But things take an unexpected turn when the detectives' chicken recipe suddenly transforms the rundown restaurant into the hottest eatery in town.
Review:
This movie is a must watch for those whom is seeking for laughter...! I swear to you guys that you could barely stop laughing and this movie is just lit.. My friend tagged me to watch the trailer for this movie on fb but I just don't really care enough to watch it. Instead, I just agreed to her invitation to watch this movie and yes, I'm so glad that I did not left this out.. Of course there might be some break especially at the part of the criminals, some exaggerating fighting scene but it was just for a while and you will just ended up laughing again and again.

I know I just updated movie review in previous post but I don't want to delay this review or else it would be just dull.. So here I am, writing a review again.. 🤣

Review:
If I'm gonna be honest here, I have to say I'm quite a fan of Marvel's movies.. I enjoyed almost everything starting from the Avengers series till Deadpool but Ant-man is excluded from the list.. I didn't know that Venom was part of Marvel since I'm not the kind whom watched movie trailers and I'm just tagging along a friend to watch this but when Marvel's logo appeared on the screen before the show started, I was like; " Okay, this should be something.."
Well yes, Marvel could hardly disappoints me..! Venom might seems pretty scary in the picture but he's pretty funny in a character so yeah, I kinda love that beast.. Have to say, Tom Hardy made a good acting in playing both role here.. Well, the story-line might be a "bit" relaxing or I would say so-so but since it's not a superhero movie to begin with, I'm kinda fine with it.. Gonna wait Venom 2 so that I could fall in love with that monster kind of beast again.. 😂
Rating: ★★★★☆ - It started out quite dull at first and things only gets interesting when Venom blended inside Eddie's body..
Assalammualaikum.. Okay it's been too long since the last time I reviewed something but come to think of it, I could make a new monthly slot on this.. haha.. So here I am, sharing what I had done watching so far and I'm sorry that it would be boring for you.. 🤣

📺Sebelum Iblis Menjemput
Synopsis: Alfie's father made a pact by becoming the servant of the Devil only for the sake of money and somehow, his father broke the pact silently, causing the family to be in target with the principle; "Hutang wang dibayar dengan nyawa"..
Review: I solely hate this movie..! Okay, honestly, I'm not a fan of horror movie but I'm not a hater as well but if I could avoid watching it, I would.. To me, horror movie is just one of the brain destroyer since I'm the ones whom would imagine things a lot so watching a horror movie is not a good idea for me but I've never closed my eyes whenever I'm watching them.. I would still watch them silently but this time, when my friend dragged me to watch this along, I hate it.. It was the first movie that I had closed my eyes on eerie scenes instead of purely enjoy it and I could barely sleep on that night till I opened Ruqyah.. So yeah, it's a no for me but I have to say, their eerie elements was superb..
Self-Rating: ★★☆☆☆ On another note, this is the first Indonesian horror movie for me, so yeah.. Not gonna watch any of their horror movies anymore.. Maybe I'm just not up to any of this movie at the first place since my friends had been saying the ghost were not as creepy as they expected to be.. 🤣

📺Crazy Rich Asians
Synopsis: Rachel Chu is happy to accompany her longtime boyfriend, Nick, to his best friend's wedding in Singapore. She's also surprised to learn that Nick's family is extremely wealthy and he's considered one of the country's most eligible bachelors. Thrust into the spotlight, Rachel must now contend with jealous socialites, quirky relatives and something far, far worse -- Nick's disapproving mother. [wikipedia]
Review: If I should be honest here, I'm watching it for the sake of Henry Golding but I'm enjoying it and I have to say, he's such a sweetheart here and Rachel's character was cool.. I love how she calmly deal with stuff since she's a professor, so thinks rationally and that was her best charm.. Oh, I should add that this movie had the best dreamy wedding ever...!
Self Rating: ★★★★☆ - It only lacks in conflict and they just focus more on the wealthy life.. But for something relaxing, you should watch it..😍
📺Hyouka: the Forbidden Secrets
Synopsis: As a high school freshman Hotaro has to choose a club to join and picks the Classic Literature Club as his sister had. Alongside fellow member Eru she happens across a decades' old text that indicates secrets of the school and its festival. [Asianwiki]
Review: I'm actually the fan of Kento Yamazaki since he was in Death Note the Series but I just got know that he's actually active in movies so yeah, I'm gonna watch all of it soon.. 😆
Okay, this movie had an interesting story-line, I love it but I just can't stand the heroin's character.. She's damn clingy and all she would do is to depend on Hotaro to solve everything instead of coping with him fully.. Maybe, I just can't stand with that character.. But overall, it's a good movie to ponder about.. 😌

Self Rating: ★★★★☆ - I kinda hope there's a sequel of this movie since it's based on one of the manga and it's only like the first case for this Hyouka manga-series..
📺The Nun
Synopsis:When a young nun at a cloistered abbey in Romania takes her own life, a priest with a haunted past and a novitiate on the threshold of her final vows are sent by the Vatican to investigate. Together, they uncover the order's unholy secret. Risking not only their lives but their faith and their very souls, they confront a malevolent force in the form of a demonic nun. [wikipedia]
Review: Well, I had been following The Conjuring series so I don't really mind watching this.. One thing that I realized on myself, I always felt that it's okay to watch the English horror movies, since you know, they're not the Malaysian ghost so I'm like, okay, the only ghost that were known in Malaysia ain't like this, so it's fine..
Regarding this movie, I personally hate it since they portrayed something wrong, in my opinion.. In my understanding, it showed that no matter how religious you were or how holy the place was, nothing would stop you from the demon but somehow, in our belief, we do know that the only way to be safe from them was to have the best faith in Allah and we strongly belief that Allah could defeats anything.. So I'm kinda dissatisfied with this movie, since it seems so wrong in my eyes...

Self-Rating:★★★☆☆ and a half since they're not that bad, it's just I had how they portrayed the storyline in not a religious way..
📺One Week Friends
Synopsis:High school student Yuki Hase wants to become close with classmate Kaori Fujimiya who is always by herself. Kaori Fujimiya refuses to become close with Yuki Hase, because she forgets her friends every new Monday. Even though Kaori tells Yuki why she doesn't want to become friends, Yuki still wants to become close to her.
Review: Another movie from Kento Yamazaki..! I accidentally watched this movie when I was staying in Ateh's house and it was already halfway but yet, I decided to just watch it and to my surprise, I was in disbelief on how aching my heart was, seeing his effort to tackle the heroin only for the sake of becoming friends and I eventually cried towards the ending... The next day, I decided to re-watch it right from the start and oh well, my heart breaks again and again and I cried a river.. So yeah, I strongly love it..!
Self-Rating:★★★★★ - oh quick warning, it was quite a slow movie but since it touched my heart a lot, I'll definitely re-watched it again and again..
📺Paskal
Synopsis: Focusing on the conflicts of PASKAL's Lieutenant Commander Arman Anwar and his team's on a mission to save life for the sake of the country's glory..
Review: I have to say, there's a lot of improvement with our current movies.. It's a record for me to spend some of my money on them since I barely did so in the past years.. I always think that it was a waste but hey, I can't resist "Pulang", and I know how everyone loved "Munafik 2" (I still no chance to watch it but I guess it's too late now) and apparently, I won't miss the chance to catch on the hype of "Paskal" and yeah, it's truly a Malaysian movie with a total different level..
Self-Rating:★★★★★ - There's some things that could be improved but it's fine.. It's awesome enough to capture my heart..
📺Familiar Wife - Korean Drama
Lessons that I gained through this drama:
1. No matter how hard you tried to return to the past and change the fate, nothing would truly change when it comes to " Jodoh".. You could try, the story might change a bit but in the end it's the fate that would always remain as a fate..
2. Marriage was on how you understand your partner, and how do you deal with it instead of just blaming ones or run away from it..

Review: I love the lesson of it but the story line was a bit "meh"..? I don't know how I truly felt on it since there are times I kinda like it, but there are times I pushed myself to just keep following it and I'm glad that I didn't stop.. The lesson was too valuable to be missed out, so yeah..
📺Thirty but Seventeen
Lessons that I gained through this drama:
1. Never give up on hopes since there's always light to shine in darkness..
2. Again, nothing defeat fates that was lead for us..
3. Never blame yourself on anything because there's always a reason behind everything.
4. Strangers could become part of your family and they could be loyal too..

Review: I will have to say, this is the best korean drama that I had watched for this year, so far.. I know there's Mr.Sunshine that was said to be a glorious drama of the year but since I'm not into historical, so hey, you're my all time favorite of the year..! I really love all of the characters in this drama, it's a relaxing ones but enough to put you in emotions and thoughts..
📺My ID is Gangnam Beauty
Lessons that I gained through this drama:
1. Stop down-grading yourself and just value yourself more..
2. A true beauty was value at heart compared to looks..
3. Not every guy looks upon beauty..

2. A true beauty was value at heart compared to looks..
3. Not every guy looks upon beauty..
Review: It's not a drama that I would say, "oh, I love it so much..!" and not that I would say that I hate it either.. I really love both the male and female main characters and I really want to emphasize that the hero was super cute but I personally think that it lacks of conflict, simply because the heroin was too kind.. But she's sweet though.. One good thing, the values was something I really need in order to boost my confidence level as part of the women whom would be discriminated by most of the gents... 😉

Assalammualaikum..
These movies had been staying in my hard disk, remaining untouched for years.. As the matter of fact, there are hundreds more of old movies that is waiting for their turn.. I downloaded these movies when I was preparing to enter my diploma life, as I was too afraid if my roommates wouldn't like me (I had traumatic high school life) so I prepared various drama and movies to fill the emptiness and little did I know, I would met blast-full roommates for my entire diploma year and plus, I got addicted to korean dramas so.. yeah.... 😓
I wanted to clear up some spaces of my hard disks and somehow, I felt guilty to just delete them without giving a chance and somehow, I'm slowly opening myself for them again.. I didn't realize I completed these four movies within 24 hours and I was thinking, why not for a short review..? It could even be new to some of you.. 😆
📺If I Stay
Synopsis: Mia Hall, a talented young cellist, thought the most difficult decision she would ever have to make would be whether to pursue her musical dreams at prestigious Juilliard or follow her heart to be with the love of her life, Adam, a rock singer/guitarist. However, a car wreck changes everything in an instant, and now Mia's life hangs in the balance. Suspended between life and death, Mia faces a choice that will decide her future.
Review: This story is just something to ponder about, in my opinion.. It's kinda confusing at first, as it kept on flashbacks of Mia's memory randomly but somehow, as the story is moving forward, it's just something for you to look forward.. I'm kinda in love in Adam's character since he had a good bf material with modest and loving attitude, contrary to a normal western rockers attitude while Mia herself, she's a cute introvert which you wouldn't expect she would hold herself well to be with Adam.. However, when you got to choose either to fight for your life or give up, and knowing that all of you family is gone, which path would you choose..?
Self-Rating: ★★★★ and a half because it's not that bad..
📺The Other Woman
Synopis: Carly Whitten lives by strict rules when it comes to romantic relationships, but when she falls for suave, handsome Mark King, she begins an affair with him. A surprise visit to Mark's home reveals that he is married to devoted housewife, Kate.Carly and Kate direct their hurt and anger toward Mark, and when they discover yet a third woman caught in his web of lies, the three join forces for revenge.
Review: For someone whom loves light and relaxing movie, this is just something for you.. To be honest, I kinda enjoyed this kind of movie as I don't really need put on full emotions on it.. No intense or cheesy lines, just something for your happy pills..
Self-Rating: ★★★★☆
📺The Giver
Synopis: Jonas lives in a seemingly idyllic world of conformity and contentment. When he begins to spend time with The Giver, an old man who is the sole keeper of the community's memories, Jonas discovers the dangerous truths of his community's secret past. Armed with the power of knowledge, Jonas realizes that he must escape from their world to protect himself and those he loves -- a challenge no one has ever completed successfully.
Review: If you're a fan of sci-fi movies, or maybe just a fan of Divergent series, this is just something for you.. Well, personally prefer the Divergent series but this one is still an okay movie.. I really love the lesson that they had but somehow, I felt like something is missing at the ending.. I thought it had continuation, something like 2nd movies but realizing that this is the only series, I'm like.. Okay.. There should be more.. "What would happen to this now..? And that..? Just really, this is the end..?" yeah.. Those are what I've been asking for the ending..
Self-Rating: ★★★★☆ because I need a better ending..
📺You're Not You
Synopis: A life-changing bond develops between a woman with ALS whose marriage is on the rocks and the brash collegian hired to be her assistant.
Review: I wanted to ignore this movie at first, and just delete it but looking at the rating (7.4 imdb), I'm like, okay.. This must be something.. I decided to give it a try and right now, I'm so glad for not deleting it right away.. I would describe this movie similar to "Me Before You" and the only difference is that both main character were girls and it just emphasizes more on friendship.. Well, this movie is just something that I could pour my emotions into..

Assalammualaikum..
I tried my best to enjoy my life before my school practicum ends by catching up the movies lined in the cinema and even few hours before I'm back to Seremban, I manage to steal some time to watch one of the movies below with my students.. So, these 4 was the latest movies that I had watched but I think some of them are not available in cinemas anymore.. Yeah, I'm always late on this matter but it's okay and let's just proceed to the review.. 😙

|
Note: I would only provide synopsis for the first and the third ones, as the other two could be considered as current hot-picks. |
Assalammualaikum.. Okay, I know I've been procrastinating a lot lately.. Ever since I'm back from Terengganu, my mind had been extra miserable.. I'm here, almost all of the time, and yet, I'm not passionate to do anything.. I was in a mad situation of confusing feelings between normal crush and or real feelings (Chapter 46), then the school practicum started and the facts that I'm not living with my housemates (Chapter 45) wrecked my emotions..
To fix my emotions, I had been entertaining myself throughout this school holiday by occupying myself with the ongoing K-dramas and I was thinking, why not if I suggest it to you guys, right..? Well at least, my blog is filled with something.. 😁
📺 Suspicious Partner
Synopsis: Bong-Hee (Nam Ji-Hyun) was judicial apprentice . One day, she caught her boyfriend Hee-Joon (Chansung), whom whom also her colleague, cheated on her with her classmate. Hurted to know the fact, she promised him that she would sleep with the next man she bumps into, Noh Ji-Wook (Ji Chang-Wook). However, she was too drunk and she's unsure if she did had the one night stand with him or not. Ji-Wook whom was one of the best prosecutor, then became her leader of her training. However, everything became a mess when she was then accused of killing Hee-Joon, whom was found dead in her house while she was not home.
Currently in episode 20 out of 40 episodes.. |
To be honest, this would be the first drama of Ji Chang-Wook that I watched.. I had fallen in love with his acting in Fabricated City and this drama made me love him even more.. His gloomy past made him to be charismatic and cool, but , as the time past by, he became a lil bit childish without his realization.. Meanwhile, Nam Ji-Hyun had became one of my favorable actress since I watched her acting in Shopaholic Louis so when this two duo were combined, how could I ignore them..? 😍
📺 Fight For My Way
Synopsis: A story of four best friends, Choi Ae-Ra (Kim Ji-Won), Ko Dong-Man (Park Seo Joon), Kim Joo-man (Ahn Jae-hong) and Baek Seol-hee (Song Ha-yoon) struggled in their journey of adulthood.
Currently in episode 6 out of 16 episodes.. |
This drama is still fresh and so far, I'm loving it for it's lightness of storyline.. The main characters were divided in two pairs, one struggles in maintaining a relationship that had been ongoing for years, meanwhile the other pair had been struggling in chasing their dreams while believing that they could never be more than a best friend, somehow, they just care about each other, not realizing that love exist between them..
📺The Best Hit / Hit The Top
Synopsis: Yoo Hyun-Jae (Yoon Si-Yoon) is a member of a popular idol group. He has a lot of fans and he is a scandal maker. Meanwhile, Lee Ji-Hoon (Kim Min-Jae) is an aspiring singer. He pretends to be studying for his civil servant exam, but he is actually struggling to become an idol.
currently on episode 6 out of 32 episodes.. |
To be honest, it's quite hard for me to describe this drama since there's a bit of time travel in this drama. It might be confusing at first but trust me, you will slowly get the relationship between the two main character.. One thing that is promising, it provides good laughter as it's a time travel to the future, which you know, it would be confusing for the people in the past, whom had no idea the future, to cope with current modernization.. Oh yes, shout out to Lee Kwang Soo lovers..! He appeared as the cameo in this drama.. 😋
P/s: Changing my template for a change of spirit and it works, I guess.?
Assalammualaikum.. Semester 5 had been killing my soul as I barely had time to catch the cinema.. Believe it or not, I've only watch 3 movies this year; XXX: Return of Xander Cage, Beauty and The Beast (I'm not going to do any review on this since I'm late but I love it..!) and the latest, a korean movie which I'm going to write the review today, Fabricated City..!
Assalammualaikum.. The semester had just started and before I got fully occupied with the assignments, it's the best for me to spend some quality time with my friends.. Since we had no class schedule on Friday, we decided for a hang out and catch a movie for an entertainment.. It was a new released movie in line, so I was thinking, why not if I share this with you guys, kan?
Title:XXX: Return of Xander Cage
Cast:
Vin Diesel, Donnie Yen, Deepika Padukone, Kris Wu, Ruby Rose, Tony Jaa, Nina Dobrev, Toni Collette, Samuel L. Jackson
Synopsis:A chaos of the stolen pandora box caused Xander Cage to make a come back, though he was actually announced as dead.. In order to complete the mission, he collected his old fellows but then, surprise by surprise awaited for him..
I entered the cinema with zero knowledge about this movie.. My friend was eager to watch this, as she was eager to watch Kris Wu and being a good friend, I agreed to accompany her..My mind went more blank when the cashier asked, "Semua dah lebih 18 ke?", being a random Malaysian, my mind immediately thought that it would be an 18sx movie.. 😅
I should had caught the momentum, since Vin Diesel are there, what else should I expect other than action movie? Sorry for my noob-ie mind.. But oh well, I have to say, this was a great movie and I really enjoy it.. There's no denial that Vin Diesel is one of the best when it comes to action genre and I love the fact that actors from various countries were involved.. I would say, I love every character from the antagonist to protagonist as each of them played their role perfectly..
Well, the only weakness that I found was at the climax part where the best fight occur. They made it a bit draggy, accompanied by loud musics without any dialogue, and all they were doing fighting while the main actresses was showing their unity and skills in fighting the protagonist.. It's hard to explain this, which is why you need to watch it by yourself.. *marketing strategy menjadi tak? *😆
Self Rating:★★★★☆Overall, it would still be in my favourite movie list, and believe me, it's worth every penny for this good movie..
